Auger-Aliassime surprises Rublev and takes the lead in Madrid!

Auger-Aliassime surprises Rublev and takes the lead in Madrid!

Court Manolo Santana was stunned to see Felix Auger-Aliassime win the first act of the 2024 Madrid final. Taking advantage of Andrey Rublev's catastrophic start to the match, the Canadian made the most of his initial lead (6-4 in 48 minutes).

Quickly breaking away (4-1, double-break), the 23-year-old resisted his opponent's comeback to find himself one set away from the title. Highly effective on serve and incisive on the forehand (4 aces, 14 winners, 4 unforced errors), the world no. 35 is thwarting all predictions.

Rublev, for his part, will have to do much better if he is to turn this match around.

Since when has Novak ever tanked a match, he's too proud to do that . Just admit, that he still hasn't found his form.

Nole doesn't have to prove anything. He can lose every match until he retires. He will still be the greatest to ever hold a tennis racket!
