Carlos Moya expects a good Nadal against De Minaur: "Within the team, we are more confident".
Communication from the Nadal camp is getting stranger and stranger. While Rafa had admitted that he would be surprised to win against De Minaur, his coach, Carlos Moya, took a completely different line.
In a brief appearance on the Madrid tournament's Twitch channel, Moya explained that, in his opinion, we should expect a completely different match to the one on offer in Barcelona. Displaying a confidence that is rather surprising given current communication, he declared: "Against De Minaur, we'll see a different Rafa. In Barcelona, I didn't see him ready to face an opponent like Alex. I think we'll see a Rafa who has spent 8 more days working and that every minute he spends on court is a minute of improvement. I think we'll see a closer match tomorrow than the other day. I don't know if he'll win, but within the team we're more confident about what we'll see. It will be better than what we saw last week."
So it remains completely unclear what Rafa's true form will be. What are we to make of it? Is Nadal just talking, or is Carlos Moya overestimating his colt? Find out on the Court Manolo Santana this Saturday!
