Fognini, the end is not yet: "Competition is what keeps me afloat".

Despite some wonderful points, Fognini was no match for Taylor Fritz (beaten 6-3, 6-4). The Italian, no longer really up to scratch physically, can still count on a magic arm to help him win a few more matches.

In the run-up to the French Open, where he has often played well, the 36-year-old Italian confirmed his desire to play for a while longer: "I've still got that fire inside me.
