Halep: "Why did Wozniacki say that? I didn't cheat."
After her defeat by Paula Badosa in Miami, Simona Halep was asked to react to Caroline Wozniacki's comments. Without targeting the Romanian personally, the Dane had explained that she didn't understand why tournaments offered wild-cards (invitations) to people who had cheated and returned from a doping suspension.
Simona Halep: "Why did she say that? Because I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't cheat, I didn't dope. So it's better for everyone to read the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) conclusions, which explain that it was a contaminated supplement.
It wasn't doping. And I've never had anything to do with doping. I've never doped, so I'm not a cheat.
So thank you to the tournament for offering me this wild-card and giving me the opportunity to play such a big tournament. It was great to be back.
And, just one person was negative about me, it's not that important. Because I have hundreds of people who give me love. So I'm concentrating on that."
