ATP Awards: Michael Russell voted Coach of the Year!
This week, the ATP presents its ATP Awards, recognizing the players and coaches who have made their mark on the 2024 season.
This Wednesday, it's the coaches' turn to be honored. The ATP named Michael Russell, coach of Taylor Fritz, as Coach of the Year.
The 46-year-old has been coaching Fritz for three years, and this year saw his player reach his first Grand Slam final at the US Open.
Fritz also achieved a career-high ranking after the Masters final as world No.4.
A well-deserved award for Michael Russell, who reacted in a short video: "It's incredible. I'm very honoured. I'm delighted to have been chosen by my fellow coaches.
We all work very hard under the radar. We spend a lot of hours working with the players to put them in the best possible conditions and develop their talent.
It's great to finally be recognized."
