Auger-Aliassime: "A Masters 1000 final, it sounds so good!"
Felix Auger-Aliassime, long in search of consistency, has just produced one of the greatest performances of his career: a Masters 1000 final, in Paris.
Just a few months ago, few would have imagined him at this level. Yet, in Nanterre, the Canadian found the light again. By dominating Vacherot (the Shanghai champion) and Bublik, among others, the Canadian has earned the right to dream of a first Masters 1000 title.
"I am so happy. A Masters 1000 final, it sounds so good. You don't play these finals every week. I hope I can go all the way and get the title. But regarding my match today, like all the ones we play in the Masters 1000, it's tough.
We are always curious to see how our tennis will evolve. But this week, I had great confidence in my game and I know what I can do against the best players in the world."
Tomorrow, he will play the biggest final of his career, but also to secure a prestigious spot at the Turin Masters (November 9-16).

You can't approach the doper by just saying, oh, pity me, I'm going to lose so badly because he's so good!
You have to have the attitude of BUT, like you did. I'm better than him, BUT he was able to close out the match. I'm better than him, BUT he improved.
Hope you have it in you to beat him despite him taking steroids.
