Withdrawal confirmed: Daniil Medvedev will not play in the Metz tournament
Invited by the organizers in Metz, Daniil Medvedev was supposed to be one of the stars of the final edition of the tournament. But the Russian has ultimately withdrawn, preferring to turn the page on a disappointing 2025 season.
The first major withdrawal has just been announced in Metz. Having been narrowly eliminated yesterday by Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals of the Rolex Paris Masters, Daniil Medvedev was scheduled to play in Moselle next week, having received a wild card from the organizers.
But the Russian, now out of the running for the ATP Finals, has just withdrawn from the final edition of the Metz tournament, simultaneously ending his 2025 season. He will be replaced in the draw by a lucky loser.
This withdrawal could be the first of a long list: Alexander Bublik, also eliminated from the race for the Masters, or even Félix Auger-Aliassime — potentially qualified for Turin if he wins the title in Paris tomorrow — could also revise their schedules in the coming days.
