Moron on Djokovic: "His name will appear, grafted in letters of gold".
In a column for Punto de Break, renowned tennis journalist José Moron paid tribute to Novak Djokovic.
Highlighting his presence alongside Juan Martin Del Potro for the latter's final match, he also spoke of the sometimes harsh media treatment the Serb has received.
Not mincing his words, he declared: "His biggest mistake was wanting to be the best in history. The press called him a villain. Once you've done that, it's hard to remove the label. He worked his way out of it, waiting patiently.
Knowing that, in time, his actions and accomplishments would rise above the words many threw at him. Years, decades, centuries will pass, and always in this story Novak Djokovic's name will appear, etched in letters of gold, while no one will remember the owners of those letters poured spitefully on him."
