Carlos Alcaraz narrowly escaped in the second round of Queen’s against Jaume Munar, coming back from a break down in the third set to win 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 in 3 hours and 22 minutes.
A real thriller for the world No. 2, who extended his winning streak to 15 consecutive matches on the tour. After match point, he went to sign the camera and decided to leave a message referencing the match’s duration:
"3h30? Were we on clay?"
As a fun fact, this was the longest men’s match at Queen’s since 1991. Back then, American and former world No. 11 MaliVai Washington won his second-round match against Mark Keil after 3 hours and 31 minutes.
