Kyrgios, ironic, reacts to Swiatek's suspension: The excuse we can all use is that we didn't know

Nick Kyrgios is one of the most active players in the tennis community.

Absent from the circuit since June 2023 but returning to competition at home in Brisbane in January 2025, the Australian is always on the lookout when it comes to reacting to current events.

This Thursday, the tennis world learned that Iga Swiatek had tested positive for trimetazidine and accepted a month's suspension several weeks ago.

The world number 2 suffered the same fate as Jannik Sinner, who tested positive for clostebol in March during Indian Wells.

Kyrgios, former world No. 13, was not so kind to the Italian and wrote a short message on his X account (formerly Twitter) following the announcement of the Pole's suspension.

"The excuse we can all use is that we didn't know. We simply didn't know.

Top athletes can now just say 'We didn't know'," wrote the 29-year-old, accompanied by a clapping emoji, used ironically.
