Alcaraz Defeats Fils Again to Reach His Third Final in Barcelona
The highly anticipated clash between Carlos Alcaraz and Arthur Fils this Saturday did not live up to expectations. After an epic duel narrowly won by the Spaniard last week in Monte-Carlo, this time the match was one-sided.
The world No. 2 secured a 6-2, 6-4 victory in just over an hour of play. In front of the Barcelona crowd, Fils never managed to trouble Alcaraz, earning only one break point throughout the match. He also committed too many unforced errors (37 in total) to realistically challenge for the win.
Without dropping a single set this week and now on a nine-match winning streak, Alcaraz will aim for his third triumph in Catalonia tomorrow against Holger Rune.
