Carlos Alcaraz will not face Jannik Sinner this year in Beijing, as he has decided to compete in Tokyo for the first time in his career.

This tournament has a unique characteristic: the members of the Big 3—Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer—have all won the event on their first attempt.

Federer won it in 2006, Nadal in 2010, and Djokovic much later in 2019. As the favorite to win the title on Japanese soil, Alcaraz could join the Big 3 in this statistic.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.
