Alcaraz reflects on his quarterfinal against Fils in Monte-Carlo: "I was stunned by Arthur's level and strength"

Just 24 hours after raising his arms in victory for the first time in Monte-Carlo, Carlos Alcaraz arrived in Barcelona, where he will begin his campaign tomorrow against Ethan Quinn.
The world No. 2 took time to speak to the media in a press conference this Monday, notably discussing his hard-fought win against Arthur Fils in Monaco:
"It was my first time playing against him, and I left the court stunned. I knew he had a very high level, but I was amazed by the level and power he can reach."
In a tournament where he has etched his name among the winners twice (2022 and 2023), Alcaraz also spoke about his physical condition amid the demanding schedule and lack of rest:
"I arrived this morning and will hit some balls this afternoon. Physically, I have no issues. I’m certainly a bit tired, especially since I didn’t have a break before Barcelona.
But I’m eager and motivated. That drives me forward. I’m looking forward to playing and hope to be ready enough for tomorrow after my training session."
