Alcaraz, soon to be a doubles star? Roddick makes a surprising prediction
The former American champion was impressed by Alcaraz's skills in doubles. For him, it would take very little for Alcaraz to dominate this discipline as well.
A doubles winner with Jakub Mensik on the first day of the 2025 Laver Cup, Carlos Alcaraz will try to rally Europe (trailing 9-3) this Sunday alongside Casper Ruud.
Present on site in San Francisco, Andy Roddick discussed the Spaniard's level in doubles, considering that he has the potential to be one of the best in this discipline:
"Some singles players, when you watch them, you think: 'Those skills, whether in defense or covering the court, are not transferable to doubles.' But for Carlos, I'm convinced that if he focused a bit more on doubles, he would be one of the best players in the world at it."
