Alcaraz Triumphs in Tokyo and Claims His 24th Career Title
Just when we thought we had seen it all, Carlos Alcaraz finds a way to push the limits even further. This Tuesday, at the Ariake Coliseum, the Spaniard scored an impressive victory against Taylor Fritz in the final of the ATP 500 Tokyo tournament, winning in two sets: 6-4, 6-4.
With this new title, his 24th in his career (and 8th this season), Alcaraz boasts an impressive record: 24 wins in 31 finals played, which is nearly 80% of finals won. A staggering statistic that already places him in the footsteps of the greatest in history.
Throughout the match, Alcaraz delivered exceptional shots against an American opponent who was far from bad. If he took a little longer to close it out, it's nothing compared to everything he produced during this final and since his debut in the Japanese tournament.
With 8 titles in 2025, Alcaraz is well on his way to breaking even more of his own records. This year, he has already won Rotterdam, the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000, Rome, Roland-Garros, Queen's, Cincinnati, the US Open, and now Tokyo. He is the world number 1, the leader in the Race, and one of the absolute favorites for the Turin Masters.
