Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Survives Epic Five-Setter, Slams 'Four Drunk Idiots' in Crowd
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina had a tough time in the second round of the Australian Open, needing five sets (6-3, 7-6, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4) to defeat Reilly Opelka.
In the fourth set, the Spaniard confronted several spectators in the stands, who were clearly drunk, insulting him and provoking him with an inappropriate gesture.
"There were four drunk idiots in the stands"
In the press conference, the world No. 14 addressed the incident, denouncing the lack of respect from some fans:
"There were four drunks who, I don't know if they were betting or what, were being a bit annoying. There are respectful people who cheer, but there were these four idiots who respected nothing."
