American teenager Amanda Anisimova won the first WTA title of her young career on Sunday with a comeback victory over Australian Astra Sharma in Bogota.

The 17-year-old, playing in only her second final, fought back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.

The sixth seed was also a break down midway through the second set, but lost only two more games in the match to race to the finish line.

The 76th-ranked Anisimova will continue her rapid rise up the world rankings, having also impressed with a run to the Australian Open last 16 earlier this year.

I admire you for using the phrase "a disrespectful Đoković" instead of "the disrespectful Đoković". When you live tennis, guided by emotions you occasionally turn into an unbearable asshole. That's just the way it is. Everyone has those moments, it's just that fans sometimes oversee their player's bad behavior because they support him. Nothing that sets Novak apart from the rest of the big guys in my opinion. We Novak's fans don't really suffer from the fact Roger and Rafa are more popular as many of you guys have said. You cannot force people to love anything or anyone and we're completely fine with that. The purpose of every comment I post about this topic is to try and reach out to all of you reasonable people to understand that everyone fights for themselves and that all these people only deserve admiration for what they've achieved. No matter if their name is Novak, Rafael, Roger, Andy, Jack, Dustin. I know it would comfort you if only Roger and Rafa were to exchange titles and the no1 spot for the past 15 years but you must admit, Novak (and Andy if you will) stirred the cup and made tennis much more interesting when they picked up the pace, didn't they?

I hope Fognini wins tomorrow as well! He might act like a spoiled brat and a jerk sometimes but there’s no denying Fabio’s high level of talent and athleticism! Rafa may have not played his best but just like Rafa said, you can’t play badly against a good player and expect to win. I think the changing of the guard is going to take at least 2 years but I think it’s finally started! Fed, Djokovic and Nadal have all been beaten multiple times by lower ranked players on their best surfaces in the last 5 years. They’ve all lost their air of invincibility and dominance. It’s been a long time coming and as much as I love Fed and hope he wins many more tournaments, it’s about time!!!
