Andy Roddick Reveals Australian Open Predictions: 'Sinner and Sabalenka to Reign Again!'
Two days before the start of the Australian Open, former world No. 1 Andy Roddick unveiled his predictions on his podcast Served.
The American, whose analysis and commentary are regularly appreciated, took the time to forecast the men's and women's singles draws.
A New Alcaraz-Sinner Final
Thus, for the men, Roddick did not wish to take risks and predicts a final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, with the Italian prevailing over his rival and securing his third consecutive Australian Open.
In the semifinals, the two champions would eliminate Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic respectively. No major surprises therefore, although the American predicts a round of 16 appearance for Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
A Third Crown for Sabalenka?
For the women, it's Aryna Sabalenka, according to him, who will triumph once again in Melbourne. And the final would be nothing other than a remake of the US Open final, pitting Sabalenka against Amanda Anisimova.
Roddick sees Swiatek, world No. 2, stopping in the quarterfinals against Rybakina, but also Coco Gauff being defeated by Sabalenka in the semifinals. Among the sensations, he sees young Iva Jovic, 18 years old and seeded No. 29, reaching the quarterfinals.
