Aryna Sabalenka Ahead of Australian Open: 'I'm Not Just an Aggressive Player Anymore'
Aryna Sabalenka is back at a tournament she knows well. The world No. 1, who started her 2026 season with a title in Brisbane, is targeting a third Australian Open title, a year after narrowly missing out on a historic triple.
'I'm Not Just an Aggressive Player Anymore'
Speaking to the media this Wednesday, Sabalenka believes she has never had such a complete game:
'A few years ago, I worked on my hand skills, my finesse. That allowed me to change my playing style. I'm not just an aggressive player anymore. I can play at the net, defend, use my slice, and have good touch.
It's something I've worked on throughout my career, to have a plan A, B, and C during a match. I'm very happy to see everything coming together. I hope to keep improving in these areas of my game.'
