This week, the Billie Jean King Cup play-offs are taking place, with the winners advancing to the 2026 final qualifying round.

In Group E, Australia made its debut against Portugal. In Hobart, the Australian team perfectly controlled the tie with wins from Kimberly Birrell against Matilde Jorge, Maya Joint against Francisca Jorge, and the pair Perez/Hunter against Jorge/Jorge.

The next match in this three-team group will take place this Saturday between Portugal and Brazil.
