From January 18 to February 1, 2026, Melbourne will host the first Grand Slam of the season with the Australian Open. After revealing the entry list for the main singles draw and the Junior tournament, the organization has unveiled the list of players who will participate in the qualifiers.

Good news, French tennis will be well represented. There will be 21 of them at the starting line, men and women combined, with the ambition of reaching the main draw.

Blanchet, Herbert, Van Assche, and Mladenovic among those entered in the Australian Open qualifiers

Thus, there will be eleven in the men's draw. Ugo Blanchet, Titouan Droguet, Pierre-Hugues Herbert, Harold Mayot, and Luca Van Assche are the highest-ranked French players in these qualifiers.

They are joined by Hugo Grenier, Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg, Dan Added, Clément Tabur, Luka Pavlovic, and Arthur Géa. On the women's side, ten will try their luck.

Thus, Diane Parry, Jessika Ponchet, Carole Monnet, Alice Rame, Manon Léonard, Harmony Tan, and Selena Janicijevic enter the qualifiers directly thanks to their ranking.

However, Fiona Ferro, Kristina Mladenovic, and Alice Tubello all benefit from a special ranking and will need to win three consecutive matches to secure participation in the Australian Open. Find the full list of players entered in the qualifiers by clicking on the link below.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

Vera Zvonareva has not yet turned the page. At 41, the former world No. 2 will make her Grand Slam return at the Australian Open, in doubles, after an encouraging end to the year on the ITF circuit.

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.
