This Thursday marked the end of qualifying at Melbourne Park. Arthur Gea, the only Frenchman to emerge from the qualifiers, will face Jiri Lehecka in the first round.

Two French Players to Face Qualifiers

With Thanasi Kokkinakis withdrawing, Dino Prizmic, as a lucky loser, will take on James Duckworth. Among the other qualifiers, Zachary Svajda will face Yannick Hanfmann, Michael Zheng will play Sebastian Korda, Nicolai Budkov Kjaer will meet Reilly Opelka, Arthur Fery will challenge Flavio Cobolli, Jason Kubler will go up against Frances Tiafoe, Liam Draxl will battle Damir Dzumhur, Jaime Faria will take on Arthur Cazaux, Elias Ymer will face Alexander Shevchenko, Rei Sakamoto will play Rafael Jodar, Francesco Maestrelli will compete against Térence Atmane, Dane Sweeny will clash with Gaël Monfils, Martin Damm will challenge Valentin Vacherot, Nishesh Basavareddy will meet Christopher O’Connell, and Yibing Wu will face Luca Nardi.
