In a detailed analysis, Boris Becker, former world number one, delved into the duel between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

According to the German, the beauty of their rivalry lies in their ability to push each other toward excellence.

"If one wins, the other seeks to improve. I think Jannik, after losing the US Open final to Carlos, has improved his serve and return."

A Split with Ferrero That Intrigues Becker

He continues by discussing the current situation of both players: "Alcaraz now finds himself in a slightly different situation, as he has parted ways with his long-time coach, Ferrero.

That surprised me a lot. At first, I didn't believe it. We'll see how this affects his mentality. Maybe not in the first tournament, but over the course of the year, yes.

It wouldn't surprise me if in the spring, he has a new 'super coach' by his side. I dream of Rafael Nadal, but I'm not the only one."

Sinner, the Strength of Stability and Continuity

The German adds: "On the other hand, Sinner seems a bit more stable, more consistent with Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi, who guide him with great success.

Sinner loves continuity, and there's no reason to break such a winning collaboration."

Who Will Win in Melbourne?

Finally, Becker concludes by giving his favorite for the final victory at the first Grand Slam of the year:

"In Melbourne, we see a difference: Sinner has won it twice, Alcaraz hasn't won it yet.

So the pressure is on the Spaniard, without Ferrero by his side, to prove he can win anyway.

Is he good enough? Yes. Is he talented enough? Yes. Let's talk in two weeks and see if we have a new champion in Melbourne.

But today, on paper, I'd say Sinner is the favorite."

Alcaraz has a new coach and a blister on a finger. I'm putting my money on Sinner.
(Don't worry folks, it's not real money!)

Does anyone know how to update ur version, because mine is still in 2024.11

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
