Bencic announces bad news before Roland-Garros

After her withdrawal in Rome against Sakkari, Bencic was scheduled for the first round of Roland-Garros against Rybakina. However, a few days before her debut, the Swiss player announced some bad news on her social media:

"Hello everyone, a little update from me, as I unfortunately won't be able to participate in Roland-Garros this year. Two days ago, during a morning practice, I reaggravated the arm injury that caused me to withdraw in Rome.

The very good news is that with two weeks of complete rest, I will be able to recover and heal completely, so I will do everything I can during this period to speed up the process and see you soon on the grass."

Her last participation at Porte d’Auteuil dates back to 2023 and a first-round defeat against Avanesyan.
