Binaghi on Sinner's suspension: "Our first thought is for the boy who is seeing a nightmare come to an end".

The news has not stopped causing a stir in the world of tennis and sport. This Saturday, Jannik Sinner, current world number 1, accepted a 3-month suspension after testing positive for clostebol a year ago at Indian Wells.
The Italian will therefore be absent from the ATP circuit until May 4, since the suspension took effect on February 9.
Angelo Binaghi, President of the Italian Tennis Federation, reacted to the suspension of the world number 1 and three-time Grand Slam winner.
"This is the first time that a shameful injustice has made us happy, because our first thought is for the boy who is seeing a nightmare come to an end.
This agreement between the two parties certifies Jannik's innocence, his absolute non-guilt. It allows him to calm down at last and plan his future with a grand return to the Rome Masters 1000, where all Italy will welcome him as he deserves.
The regret remains for everything he has had to endure and for all the time Jannik has had to spend with this sword of Damocles hanging over his head. This may well be the World Anti-Doping Agency's last great mistake.
As we know, they have already decided to change the rules and forced Sinner to accept a compromise which, even if he does not acknowledge any responsibility on his part, is really unfair," he assured Tennis World Italia.
