Bublik Beats Musetti for Hong Kong Title, Breaks into ATP Top 10 for First Time
The Hong Kong ATP 250 final promised fireworks. The two top seeds, Lorenzo Musetti and Alexander Bublik, met for the first time since 2024, both chasing the title and a spot on the roll of honor alongside Alexandre Muller. The first set was tight, with the Italian squandering the only two break points on offer.
Bublik ultimately dominated the tiebreak, racing to a 7-2 win. The Kazakh then seized control in the second set, fueled by 34 winners across the match.
In the end, the 28-year-old prevailed in straight sets (7-6, 6-3 in 1h38). He improved to 3-1 lifetime against the Italian and claimed his ninth career title.
Bublik Cracks ATP Top 10, Musetti Loses Seventh Straight Final
This triumph catapults Bublik into the ATP top 10 for the first time in his career. For Musetti, it's another bittersweet week. He will crack the top 5 on Monday, but his title drought continues.
Since his last title in Naples in 2022, the 23-year-old has dropped all seven finals he's played on the main tour: Queen’s 2024, Umag 2024, Chengdu 2024, Monte-Carlo 2025, Chengdu 2025, Athens 2025 and Hong Kong 2026.
