"By far my toughest match this week," Blockx reflects on his victorious semifinal at the Next Gen ATP Finals
Alexander Blockx has qualified for the final of the Next Gen ATP Finals. The Belgian, who won all three of his group matches earlier in the week, confirmed his form against Nicolai Budkov Kjaer in the semifinals this Saturday.
After three tight sets, the Belgian managed to come out on top (4-3, 4-3, 4-2). Moreover, the world number 116 is aware that the Norwegian offered him a very interesting challenge.
"The match may have been decided in three sets, but it was by far my toughest match this week. I think we both played at a very high level. In the second set, luck was on my side once again.
"I will prepare as best as I can for the final"
We had very long rallies, and I am very happy to have been able to share that moment with him. I will prepare as best as I can for the final (against Tien). I think I feel good physically, even though these matches are tough and the time between points is shorter.
The rallies are longer, and without the announcements, you don't have much time to think. The most important thing here is to stay calm in your head, and that's what I'm doing," Blockx assured for the ATP website.
