Carlos Alcaraz Opens Up: 'I Don't Think I'll Play Beyond Age 35'
Carlos Alcaraz spoke in an interview with ESPN.
Asked about the exceptional longevity of players like Novak Djokovic or Stan Wawrinka, who remain competitive well into their thirties, he did not hide his admiration.
'The key is passion for tennis. I don't think they themselves imagined they'd still be competing today.'
But when the question turned to him, he responded with this.
'Honestly, I think it will be difficult for me to play beyond my 35s, even though you never know.'
The Spaniol tempered his statement with respect and humility, hoping to maintain, for as long as possible, 'the passion and vitality' that drive his elders today.
