Del Potro talks about his daily life since the exhibition against Djokovic: To be happy, I'd like my knee to be completely healed

Juan Martin Del Potro has called time on his professional career for three years now, but last December the Argentine played a symbolic final exhibition match against Novak Djokovic in Buenos Aires.

Since that event, which celebrated the great career of the 2009 US Open winner, Del Potro has reappeared in Delray Beach for a doubles exhibition, before appearing today at a press conference on the occasion of the Rio tournament.

Since the match against Djokovic, I've felt that I was no longer a professional player, that a new chapter had begun.

Tennis was my life. But now I'm trying to get it into my head that I'm a former tennis player. [...]

My life is completely different, I have time for myself and for other things. I do things in Tandil, I get together with players, I do activities with sponsors during tournaments. Little by little, I'm getting back to tennis-related things."

Finally, Del Potro once again spoke about his physical state:

"To be completely happy? I'd like my knee to be completely healed. Today, I feel pain every day."
