Djokovic Back? Troicki Revives Suspense for the Match in Chile
The tension has escalated a notch in Serbia. A few months before the 2026 Davis Cup qualifying match against Chile (February 6-8), Viktor Troicki stated the following:
"With him, we would undoubtedly be one of the strongest teams."
The Serbian captain could not have better fueled speculation about a Novak Djokovic comeback.
The Djokovic Factor: A Qualification That Could Depend on One Man
Without Djokovic in 2025, Serbia experienced a disappointment: 2-0 against Denmark, then a total collapse (2-3 defeat).
But with him, Serbia instantly becomes a team to watch again, as in 2010, or during the brilliant campaigns that followed.
But Troicki tempers: "It is too early to say whether Novak will be part of the team. We will see after the Australian Open."
Djokovic has always repeated that representing Serbia remains a major goal. But nothing is guaranteed.
