Djokovic Cruises Past Maestrelli but Blasts Australian Open Conditions: 'Feels Like Two Different Tournaments'
Novak Djokovic's run at the Australian Open continues. The Serb had no trouble dispatching Francesco Maestrelli 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
He did, however, criticize the playing conditions, quite different between his night-session match against Pedro Martinez and the daytime one against the Italian.
He stated: “In fact, the score is the same as in the first round, so the on-court sensations were quite similar, overall positive. I served better in the first match.
“You Have to Adapt”
I felt like I was playing two completely different tournaments, day and night, especially with the wind, which blew harder this year than in all the other years I've played here in Australia.
You have to adapt, and adapt to a different opponent with a powerful serve. But overall, I'm satisfied with my movement and my shots.”
