Five-time Indian Wells champion, most recently in 2016, Novak Djokovic returns to California.

Last year, the scenario was brutal: knocked out in his opening match at Indian Wells (by Van de Zandschulp), before staging a comeback in Miami where he reached the final.

But this year, the draw offers him no respite.

Djokovic's Potential Path

After a manageable opener (against the winner of Majchrzak–Perricard), the first real trap could come as early as the third round against Hubert Hurkacz.

Powerful and capable of serving over 220 km/h, the Pole remains a feared opponent.

Sure, he's coming off a string of losses after the United Cup, but against Djokovic, the Pole has nothing to lose.

But the danger doesn't stop there. In the round of 16, Djokovic could face defending champion Jack Draper.

Back after a long left-arm injury, the Brit has found his rhythm in Dubai.

Young and explosive, Draper epitomizes the player who can swing a match with a hot streak.

Quarterfinals and Semifinals: Fritz, Medvedev, then Alcaraz

In the quarters, two names stand out: Taylor Fritz and Daniil Medvedev.

Fritz, buoyed by the American crowd, thrives in these conditions.

As for Medvedev, a two-time finalist (2023-2024), he's currently stuck in Dubai, which could jeopardize his participation.

And as if that weren't enough, an explosive semifinal could pit him against world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, the 2023 and 2024 winner.

Who in the Final?

In the event of a strong semifinal run and final qualification, Djokovic could face Jannik Sinner or Alexander Zverev.

The question is: can Djokovic still conquer such a merciless draw?
