Djokovic ready to break two of Federer's records in 2026

In 2026, the Serbian could not only secure a 25th Grand Slam title, but also erase two records held by Roger Federer.

The year 2026 could once again be synonymous with records for Novak Djokovic. Still in pursuit of a 25th Grand Slam title, the Serbian would become, in case of victory, the oldest player in the Open Era to win a Major.

Already a winner of two tournaments in 2025 and a semi-finalist in all four Grand Slams, the former world No. 1 could also dominate two very specific statistics if he maintains his remarkable consistency.

Two of Federer's records in his sights

This season, Djokovic has already surpassed Roger Federer in the number of weeks spent in the world top 4, reaching 808 weeks (current streak) compared to 804 for the Swiss.

And the Serbian could still dethrone his former rival in two other categories: he only needs 15 more weeks in the top 5, and an additional 45 weeks in the top 10, to become the absolute record holder in these two rankings.

Djokovic would thus become the record holder for the number of weeks spent as world No. 1, but also in the top 2, top 3, top 4, top 5, and top 10.

Goals that seem well within his reach, provided he repeats a season of the same caliber as the one he has just accomplished.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
