Recipient of the wild card awarded to a French player at the Australian Open, Kyrian Jacquet fell in the first round to Emilio Nava in five sets. In comments relayed by L’Équipe, the Frenchman analyzed his match.

'There was this question of legitimacy (about his wild card), so I tried to show them that I deserved it anyway, and I'm proud of having fought until the end. But deep down, it would have been easier to lose in three sets; here, it's tough to lose in five.

Of course, on the court, when I start to come back in the score, I think about what happened at the last Roland (defeat against Nuno Borges after leading two sets to zero). I tell myself that it doesn't just happen to others and that it can happen to me too.

'I Have a Great Chance of Being Top 100 This Year'

But no, and it's frustrating. I really didn't play a good match, from start to finish, I just battled trying to have a good attitude, even if I didn't always have the best possible one. I complained a bit too much and didn't accept enough that he could serve so well.

And then I found myself a bit too passive in this match.' Despite the defeat, Jacquet preferred to remain optimistic: 'Despite everything, it's encouraging, to reach the super tie-break in the fifth against a player ranked 80th while not being stable. I know that if I continue to do things right and I'm mentally stable, I have a great chance of being Top 100 this year.'

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

Does anyone know how to update ur version, because mine is still in 2024.11

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
