Johnson defends Alcaraz regarding exhibitions: "I don't appreciate him being criticized for that"
Carlos Alcaraz participates in many exhibitions, which is not to everyone's taste. However, Steve Johnson stepped in to defend him.
According to him, it also allows top players to play in countries that usually do not host tournaments.
"He contributes to the development of this sport"
He stated: "From a health perspective, the difference between a competition and an exhibition is huge. During an exhibition, you can protect yourself enough to avoid injuries.
I don't appreciate him being criticized for that. It's clear he is well paid, but he also contributes to the development of this sport. Exhibitions allow those who are not used to seeing the best to do so."
