Kasatkina Changes Sporting Nationality: "I Will Represent Australia, My New Home"
Born Russian, Daria Kasatkina has chosen to change her sporting nationality and will now represent Australia.
The 27-year-old player, ranked 12th in the world, will become Australia’s No. 1, as she announced on her social media:
"I am very happy to inform you that my application for permanent residency has been approved by the Australian government.
Australia is a place full of love, very welcoming, and I feel at home here. I love being in Melbourne and can’t wait to live there.
In this context, I am proud to announce that from now on and for the rest of my career, I will represent Australia, my new home.
Of course, there were aspects of this decision that were not easy. I want to thank my family, my coaches, and everyone who has supported me throughout my journey.
I will always have respect and gratitude for my roots, but I am thrilled to begin this new chapter under the colors of the Australian flag.
Thank you all for your understanding and support."
She just sold herself so cheap. Probably she's not worth more than that.
Wishing her the success.
