Krejcikova, Kasatkina, Kudermetova Withdraw from Indian Wells WTA 1000
The draw for the third WTA 1000 event of the season at Indian Wells took place last night. Absent from Dubai, the world's top two players Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek return for this California tournament.
Some players injured in recent weeks are also making their comeback. This includes Naomi Osaka, Marta Kostyuk, and Eva Lys. However, others are absent from the U.S. West Coast.
Six players have withdrawn from Indian Wells, including 5 from the top 60
World No. 37, Loïs Boisson is the highest-ranked player not taking part in this tournament. Absent since September 2025, the Frenchwoman, who has been dealing with a thigh issue in recent weeks, is also nursing a right forearm injury.
Other players will also skip the tournament. Sidelined by left thigh injuries, Barbora Krejcikova and Elisabetta Cocciaretto must postpone their return to competition further.
Injured in her right hip in Dubai and withdrawing before her second round in the Emirates, Daria Kasatkina has also pulled out. Meanwhile, Veronika Kudermetova and Wang Yafan, who have not played a single match in 2026, are extending their time sidelined.
