After Grigor Dimitrov had given the Europeans the lead by silencing Tabilo, it was the American duo of Fritz and Shelton who prevailed in Friday's final match.

Opposed to a dream pairing of Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev, the two Americans dictated play with great efficiency, getting on the ball early and proving highly adept at the net.

Victorious in just over an hour and a half (7-6, 6-4), they enabled the World team to catch up with the European team (2-2).
