Medvedev beats Zverev for the 13th time in his career and reaches the final in Halle

The first semifinal of the ATP 500 in Halle gave us the 20th duel between Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev.

Before this match, Medvedev led the head-to-head with 12 wins to 7, but the two had never faced each other on grass. That is now done, and it was the Russian who emerged victorious from a tightly contested match (7-6, 6-7, 6-4).

However, he gave himself a scare by missing three match points at 6-5 in the second set. After that, Zverev claimed the tiebreak decisively with a score of 7-1, but he couldn't ride that positive wave into the final set.

Qualified for the final, Medvedev will attempt to win his first title in over two years against either Alexander Bublik or Karen Khachanov.
