Corentin Moutet advances to the second round of the Australian Open 2026. The Frenchman, facing Tristan Schoolkate in his opener, delivered a solid performance overall to win in three sets.

Against a player he had never faced before, the 26-year-old fired 34 winners to 26 unforced errors, prevailing without expending too much energy (6-4, 7-6, 6-3). No. 32 seed Moutet will face Sebastian Korda or Michael Zheng for a spot in the round of 16.

Jacquet Battles Back from Two Sets Down But Succumbs in Thriller

Meanwhile, Kyrian Jacquet came close to a big upset. Down two sets to Emilio Nava, world No. 128 Jacquet leveled the score against his opponent. The American tallied 68 winners and showed strong mental fortitude.

The pair were decided in the fifth-set super tie-break. Nava built a lead and held on to win (6-2, 7-5, 6-7, 4-6, 7-6). World No. 88 Nava will face Cameron Norrie or Benjamin Bonzi in the second round.

For Jacquet, it's another cruel twist—he lost in five sets to Nuno Borges in the first round of Roland Garros last year. World No. 128 Jacquet is still seeking his first Grand Slam main-draw win but seems to be getting closer each time.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

Does anyone know how to update ur version, because mine is still in 2024.11

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
