Moutet's Blunt Admission After Alcaraz Loss: 'I'm Weaker in Every Aspect of the Game'
Beaten in three sets (6-2, 6-4, 6-1) on Rod Laver Arena, Corentin Moutet left the court disappointed but clear-eyed, aware he had glimpsed the highest level without yet being able to reach it.
'I Still Don't Have the Ability to Beat Him': Moutet's Confession
In the mixed zone, the Frenchman reflected at length on his performance and stated this:
'I tried to give my best. But there was a better player today, and even in general. And I still don't have the ability to beat him. It's as simple as that.'
I know that today, and I'm not ashamed, I'm weaker than him in every aspect of the game.
He serves harder than me, he hits harder on the forehand, harder on the backhand, he moves better. In fact, he does everything better. That's why he dominates tennis.'
A Valuable Lesson for the Future
Despite the frustration, Corentin Moutet wants to use this duel to improve.
'What's interesting is that it gives me tools to train again, work hard, and keep progressing.'
