The One Point Slam draw featured numerous top players including Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Iga Swiatek, but it was an amateur who secured the final victory: Jordan Smith.

As the champion of New South Wales, the Australian defeated Bailey Smith (amateur), Laura Pigossi, Jannik Sinner, Amanda Anisimova, Pedro Martinez, and Joanna Garland in a completely unexpected final.

He only had to return the Taiwanese player's serve before she made a backhand error.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
