Ons Jabeur already back on the tour… with a surprising new role

Just a few days after announcing she is expecting a baby boy, Ons Jabeur is already preparing to return to the tour… but in a brand new role. The Tunisian will accompany Turkey's Zeynep Sönmez, world No. 112, in 2026 as a mentor.

The information was revealed on social media by the account TennisHaberleri on X (formerly Twitter).
Away from the tour since July due to her pregnancy, Jabeur will thus move into new responsibilities before, perhaps, returning to competition later.
Zeynep Sönmez, who won the WTA 250 in Mérida at the end of 2024, will also be able to rely on the expertise of Issam Jellali. Jabeur's longtime coach is indeed becoming her head coach, supported by a whole team dedicated to her progress.
