Osaka Makes Successful Debut at Osaka Tournament
Naomi Osaka is competing this week at the WTA 250 in Osaka, her hometown. The Japanese player made her debut on Monday against her compatriot Wakana Sonobe, who received a wild card from the organizers.
The match started in the best possible way for Osaka, who won the first set 6-0 in 26 minutes.
The second set was tighter between the two players, partly due to a break conceded by Osaka.
The Japanese player ultimately prevailed with a score of 6-0, 6-4 and will face Suzan Lamens or Emiliana Arango in the next round.
