Naomi Osaka came to Saint-Malo seeking rhythm on clay after her early defeat in Madrid against Lucia Bronzetti.
A decision that paid off for the Japanese player as she won the tournament this Sunday against Kaja Juvan with a score of 6-1, 7-5.
After a one-sided first set, the Slovenian managed to break relatively early in the second set, only to give it back in the 8th game and then collapse on her service game at 6-5.
With this victory, Osaka climbs 7 spots and will be ranked 48th in the WTA rankings next Monday. As for Juvan, who resumed competition last February after a year's absence, she will be 356th, climbing 159 spots.
