Rune: "I don't think I need to change my style of play, look at Zverev".
Holger Rune is experiencing stagnation in his career, if not regression in the ATP rankings. Whereas he was world No. 4 in August 2023, the Dane is now No. 14.
He is in Copenhagen to defend his team's Davis Cup colors against Serbia. He will face Hamad Medjedovic this Friday.
On the sidelines of this competition, he spoke about his career, in comments relayed by SuperTennisTV: "I don't think I need to change my style of play.
Look at Zverev, how he's managed to improve in recent times without changing his style of play.
Before his ankle injury, he was regularly in the top 5, but now he's progressed even further and is hitting the Grand Slams even harder.
I want to do that too. My next step is not to win a major tournament, but to maximize my potential and improve physically, mentally and in terms of tennis.
If I can do that, I know success will come."
