Rune on Sinner's Rise: 'He Reached a New Level Without Adding Anything New'
Holger Rune was a guest on the Served podcast, hosted by Andy Roddick. During the show, he talked about world number 2, Jannik Sinner.
For him, the Italian has improved through hard work and perseverance. In comments relayed by Punto de Break, he stated: 'Jannik has progressed enormously between 2023 and 2024, the year he started winning Grand Slam tournaments.
Before his explosion in the Majors, his results were very similar to mine; he was already an incredible player, reaching Masters 1000 finals and others, but he was missing those small details to become the best.
'His Game Hasn't Changed That Much'
I remember one summer, I was playing in Monaco, and I saw him training four hours a day, every day, with incredible discipline alongside Vagnozzi. They repeated each shot over and over, never missing a single session.
He really reached a new qualitative level because he started working better, much more seriously. His game hasn't changed that much; he simply became better in every aspect.
His serve, returns, forehand, and backhand are more precise. I don't think he added anything new, even the volley; he always had a decent volley.'
