She hits hard," Pegula analyzes Boisson's game
Jessica Pegula fell to Loïs Boisson in the Roland-Garros round of 16, much to everyone's surprise.
In her post-match press conference, as reported by Tennis Actu, the American analyzed the game of an opponent she didn’t know very well.
"I don’t think I was that surprised by her game, but I think the match went the way she wanted it to. I think I did a good job in the first set, but she served better.
"I felt like in the first set, she missed all her drop shots. Then, she made every single one in the other sets. I didn’t do well on the key points.
"I think she played exactly how I imagined she would. She has a powerful, very heavy forehand. I had a million opportunities that I didn’t take. Unfortunately, it didn’t go my way.
"She really leans into her forehand, and she’s quick. She covers the court well to set up her forehand and attack mine.
"Honestly, she hits hard. She can also hit high balls, use drop shots, slices. She’s fast—that’s how she can rack up points, and she did it really well today.
