Sorribes Tormo Announces Break from Career: "I Don’t Even Want to Compete in Tournaments Anymore"

Ranked 85th in the world, Sara Sorribes Tormo will be absent from the tour for some time. The 28-year-old Spaniard shared a message on her Instagram account to publicly announce her decision.
"Hello everyone, I wanted to let you know that I’ve decided to take a break to focus on myself, my mind, and my body. For months now, I’ve been struggling on the tennis court. The happy Sara you see off the court is far from how I truly feel right now.
I’ve lost the desire to train, to improve, and I don’t even want to compete in tournaments anymore. Moments of suffering have far outweighed those of peace, and I say this as someone who has always loved hard work and competition.
That’s why, in addition to seeking help, I feel the need to stop and rest. I don’t know if this will be temporary or permanent. I want to be true to myself and listen to what my body is telling me. See you soon," wrote the former world No. 32 in her recent social media post.
