This Tuesday, Carlos Alcaraz qualified for the quarterfinals in Rome for the first time in his career after defeating Karen Khachanov in a hard-fought match.
At just 22 years old, the Spaniard becomes the second youngest player behind Rafael Nadal to reach the quarterfinals of all Masters 1000 tournaments since their inception in 1990, as reported by the X account Jeu, Set et Maths.
He surpasses Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Marcelo Rios.
